 Littleton, CO By Linda Carlson
Teaching in the Denver, Colorado area since 1972, artist Laurie Harbert opened the Carousel Palette in 1982 in the historical downtown district of Littleton, Colorado. Her desire was to create a haven for all creative people to share their passion about their art. She developed a center where local instructors could teach. These teachers now have a special place to call home, share their knowledge and enthusiasm, and over the years, help the Carousel Palette to become a recognized mainstay of the community.
For over 27 years, weekly classes have been available to students, helping them learn traditional or decorative mural painting. Various classes on various crafts are now available to the public.
The center also hosts seminars, craft shows, and gallery exhibits’ on a regularly scheduled basis. Space is available for meetings, parties, and networking groups; while the member’s artistic endeavors like hand painted furniture, and artwork is available to the public along with commissioned works of specialized mural designs for home or offices.
Laurie has embraced the artistic mediums of acrylics, watercolor, and pastels, but she always returns to her first love; oil painting. Her art work is available at the Carousel Palette and through her web site. Carousel Palette Cards (their sister company) produces fine quality note cards, journals and mouse pads from original artwork. For more information please visit www.carouselpalette.com.
