“According to Native tradition, there was always a special person in each Native American tribe that one could go to for answers about dreams, visions, and the future.
These special people are called, "Tellers" or "Seers"; one who has keen moral and Spiritual insight; one who answers about dreams, visions, and the future. These special people are called, "Tellers" or "Seers"; one who has keen moral and Spiritual insight; one who foretells future events; a Prophet.” So begins the web site of Tuscarora Native American Seer, Ted Silverhand.
His web site also adds that, “A Pawnee medicine man recognized his special gifts and named him Pahocatawa; ‘He Who Walks Amongst the Stars’.” Having personally known Ted Silverhand for at least fifteen years, I can attest that he is indeed one who walks among the stars; figuratively and literally speaking. Ted walks among the stars as he strives for spiritual guidance to assist those that come and sit before him; and he has guided many “stars” including the legendary Elvis Presley, encouraging them to find their path with the direction coming to him with the assistance of his ancestors and Great Spirit. Thefirst time I ever saw Ted Silverhand was when I was walkingthrough a convention center in Chicago. He sat quietly, handsfolded on the table in front of him, listening to the hypnotic, soothing Native Americanflute music playing next tohim. A powerhouse of a man, he glanced up silently at me with knowing dark eyes and a gentle smile. I instantly felt his calming spirit and knowing ways. I was somehow reassured, that regardless of all the chaos in my life at the time, all good things would come to pass.
Over time Ted Silverhand and I got to know one another. As Ted made public appearances on radio and television (along with doing public speaking), our paths occasionally crossed. Like a ship directed by the stars, Ted Silverhand’s life journey had its ups and downs, but at the helm he stood firm – holding onto his innate Spiritual beliefs and helping countless thousands find their footing in life.
Why do I believe that Seer Ted Silverhand is an inspirational person? In my opinion he is a leader of the Spiritual Pack; for regardless what cards life dealt him, he stood firm in kindness, justice, and the belief that he would be led to the people and places he was meant to be. He continues to stand firm in the belief that his role in life is to be the teacher, and the prophet; linking his strong tribal convictions into the fabric of the world around him.
Ted Silverhand, whose own spiritual gifts were recognized when he was just a child, began to counsel others at the tender age of 12. He continues to call on his Spiritual “Council” to help him give insight, advice, and encouragement to those who seek direction from him: small wonder he is known as a very effective, “Life Consultant.” For more information visit www.tedsilverhand.com.
